Ada County excess proceeds from tax deed auctions

Ada County, Idaho (Boise, Meridian and surrounding cities) publishes auction data and excess proceeds from its tax deed sales through the County Treasurer.

How to claim Ada County surplus funds yourself (free)

  1. Find your parcel on the Treasurer's auction data and excess proceeds list.
  2. Call the Ada County Treasurer (208-287-6800) to ask for the claim process.
  3. Submit the claim with ID and any documents the Treasurer asks for, inside the County's window.

Deadline

In Idaho the county treasurer holds excess proceeds for a short window after its notice (60 days under Idaho Code 31-808). After that the money goes to the Idaho State Treasurer's unclaimed property program, where you can still claim it free.

Good to know

Idaho Code 14-5-1301 voids paid finder agreements for money held by the State until 24 months after it reaches the State. In that period we will only point you to the free claim.
